Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki concluded his visit to Hainan today by attending the opening plenary of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024 and the Hainan-Hong Kong Entrepreneurs' Luncheon.

The theme of this year's forum is “Asia & the World: Common Challenges, Shared Responsibilities” and National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji delivered a keynote speech at the opening plenary.

After attending the opening plenary, Mr Chan joined the Hainan-Hong Kong Entrepreneurs' Luncheon where he delivered an address highlighting that Hong Kong is the largest source of foreign investment in Hainan and the province's further opening up in recent years has provided numerous business opportunities for Hong Kong enterprises.

Mr Chan said he looks forward to Hainan and Hong Kong entrepreneurs continuing to pursue deeper and higher-level co-operation in more areas to jointly develop productive forces for injecting stronger impetus into the country's development.

Summarising his visit to Hainan, the Chief Secretary said it is now the time for Hong Kong, with a stable and safer society, to strive for development and build a vibrant economy at full speed as well as foster co-operation with different places around the globe including Asia.
